Current Wording – PDArticle212
212.2 Horses over 14.2 hands in height will be classified as horses; those 14.2 hands and under will be classified as ponies. Exception: A registered horse of a breed permitting horses to be 14.2 or under (e.g., Arabian, Morgan, Quarter Horse, etc.) may show in either division but only one size division at the same show (i.e., as a pony or a horse).
Suggested Wording
2. Horses over 14.2 hands (58” / 147cm) will be classified as horses; those 14.2 and under will be classified as ponies. A Registered animal of a breed permitting horses to be 14.2 or under (i.e.e.g. Arabian, Morgan, Quarter Horse, etc.) may show in either division if 14.2 or under but only in one size division at the same show.
Reason for change
To conform with Pleasure Driving measurement conventions
