Current Wording – PD 207.3 Harness
b. Bridles should fit snugly to prevent catching on the vehicle or other pieces of harness. A throatlatch and a noseband or cavesson are mandatory. Flash nosebands are strongly discouraged in pleasure driving classes.
Suggested Wording
b. Bridles should fit snugly to prevent catching on the vehicle or other pieces of harness. A throatlatch and a full noseband or cavesson are mandatory. Flash nosebands are strongly discouraged in pleasure driving classes. The use of gullet straps is acceptable.
Reason for change
To clarify that nosebands must go completely around not just over the top of the nose and that the use of gullet straps is a good idea.

September 17, 2014I can’t find where I saw it but I believe there was a proposal that made it sound like a noseband would not be required. It had it in a description about the harness and no over check or side check??
