3. Dress for Juniors and Children

At all times, while on a carriage, Children and Junior Athletes must wear a body protector and a securely fastened Protective Headgear. During Horse inspections, it is strongly recommended for Children and Juniors to wear securely fastened Protective Headgear.

At all times, while on a carriage, Children and Junior Athletes must wear a body protector and securely fastened Protective Headgear. During Marathon, Children and Juniors must wear a body protector.  During Horse inspections, it is strongly recommended for Children and Juniors to wear securely fastened Protective Headgear.

Reason for change

Neither compelling reason nor accident statistics exist to require Children and Juniors to wear body protectors during Dressage or Cones.

    I agree, this is a step in the right direction, although I’d rather even on the marathon make it only “strongly recommended” as we have it for adults, rather than mandatory.
    It’s grandma riding along whose safety I’m concerned with. The youngster will just tumble.

    This is a good amendment; the current rule is too restrictive without addidtional benefit.

    So what happened to this, as well as many other RCS’s ? Shouldn’t we have had some action by July 31st of the Tec Committees (CD on this one, but there are many others also from the Pleasure Driving side) which should have been transformed to RCP’s by the Tec Committees – or stated that the Tec Committees do not recommend them ?
