At ADS-recognized events, numbered markers shall be distinguished by the following colors. Distinctive shapes are also highly recommended. Numbers may be black or white to provide maximum contrast:

At ADS-recognized events, numbered markers shall be distinguished by the following colors. Distinctive shapes are also highly recommended. Numbers may be black or white to provide maximum contrast:

VSE classes – octagonal – orange or purple background

Reason for change

A sudden change from many past years of purple to orange has left many shows with a large stock of purple octagons and a large expense of suddenly replacing them.  Competitors have also complained that the orange is too similar to red and prefer the purple.  Shows should have an option to either use purple or orange.
