Current Wording – Article 25A.1 Vehicles
Management may restrict Combined Driving marathon vehicles from participation in Pleasure Driving competitions. The Combined Driving marathon vehicle is specifically defined as one that is built for the singular purpose of Combined Driving marathon use and would not be traditionally appropriate for presentation, dressage, or a turnout class.

Reason for change
Struck portion moved to Art 32

August 5, 2013If it is to be moved, organizers and competitors need to be able to find the definition.
The obvious place for definitions of terms is Article 2. The definition should move there, not to Article 32.
Article 32 can still include marathon vehicle classes as a type.

August 13, 2013Our pleasure show isn’t recognized but we do allow marathon vehicles. For most of our members, that is what they have.

August 28, 2013I already have a problem with this current rule. I think making a marathon style vehicle an “option” for inclusion in Pleasure Driving competitions should be entirely eliminated. With the ability to determine divisions amongst the vehicles and equines already in place, excluding an entire category of vehicles is inappropriate….and can be handled through “divisions”….no exclusion.
Some marathon type vehicles have “dress up” packages…they would be excluded according to this definition. There are other pipe styled vehicles that are not considered traditional marathon vehicles, but are consistent with the construction of marathon vehicles….where do they fit into the divisions, or are they to be allowed for exclusion, as well?
Definitions are always appropriate in the appropriate places….which is what this rule change proposal is all about, actually.
