August 28, 2013I attach my bridles to a braid in my horse’s mane. There is a little ring on the back of the crown piece…I put in an appropriate braid at the top of the mane….I use a piece of yarn that matches the mane. That is my idea of unobtrusive safety feature for my VSE’s and ponies…even my full sized horse. Gullet straps aren’t the end-all of safety features…there are other means of keeping a bridle on, such as what I use. I prefer not to change the dynamics of how the caveson works by changing how it interacts with the mechanics of the horse’s head, mouth, musculature, etc.
