Current Wording – Table for Marathon Speeds for VSEs

960.2.9

Suggested Wording – Increase Section B speeds for VSEs by 1/2 kph at training and preliminary level.

Note: Training 9 kph to 9.5 kph. Prelim 9 kph to 9.5 kph

Reason for change – Most VSEs have to walk large portions of the course to avoid coming in too fast.

I concur, the current VSE times for Section B are too slow. As a Preliminary driver, I have to walk between obstacles to come in on time. Even a 1k increase would be OK.

Yes I support this proposal. My VSEs are 38″ and have to walk large portions of section B to finish within the acceptable time window. I would prefer 10kph (as in section A) but this is a step in the right direction.

I agree with this change. The current speed does require too much walking.

I recomend that speeds for VSE remain 9 KMH for training in sections A and B. Increase the speed to 10 kph for Preliminary in both section A and B . Increase the speed for Intermediate to 11 KPM ,maybe even 12 in both A and B. Leave the Training level alone to allow for new people and young horses to compete without stress. Horses suited for this activity will have no problem making the faster times as they move up.

I agree with the change proposal.
