June 29, 2018Comment on 11.2, This rule is now called 11.2 Cones.
– Why is the word cones added and how does it change the rule? The competitions could well be Dressage and Marathon. – Also it is not clear what is ‘the official Course Walk’. If there is more than one competition there are multiple course walks; to which course walk does this rule apply?
– Is course walk the same as inspection? This seems to be a term that is used elsewhere.
– the word ‘official’ should be dropped in front of ‘course walk’ everywhere in the document (or added everywhere) (e.g. 973.5.3).
– To which competitions does the rule apply: ‘Printed maps and diagrams are not required’? Only cones? Only those competitions where the same space is used for one competition? What about 961.2. Does the rule only say that the diagrams do not have to be printed (e.g. they can drawn by hand or scratched in the sand)?
Comments on 11.1
– For consistency, this rule should copy the language from 962.3.1, quote: ‘At ADS-recognized events, the [marathon] course must be available for inspection by the Competitors at least 24 hours before the start of the Competition’.
– Since rules for Driving Trials are based on ADS rules for CDEs (Appendix CD-A 1.), is the only new element here: ‘except under special circumstances, with agreement of the Technical Delegate’.

August 30, 2018If you are saying 30 min prior to cones, that is not long enough for some of us to memorize a course
