Current Wording – Sections A & B must have a marker at every kilometer. In Section B then measurement of the kilometers must include the distances through the obstacles.

ADS marathon courses: when multiple divisions with different distances are used in Sections A and/or B, the kilometer marker shall have kilometer be distinguished by markers color coded and shaped to match division Compulsory Turn Flags, as described in Article 960.5.1
NOTE: Reference to this Article must also be added to Appendix CD-E, under “Marathon Markers.”
Reason for change – Housekeeping. The requirement is not contained in any article.

June 24, 2015In a perfect world it would be nice if everything was as it should be but this falls under the heading of an “unfunded mandate”. If the course is reasonably marked for direction with kilometers, gates and divisions leave it alone. This change is not necessary. Correct article is 960.

August 6, 2015I agree with this. _Some_ organizers have gotten sloppy about posting K markers (wrong location, wrong color, etc.). This reminds organizers about the rules. I support this proposal.
