Article 931.1 – Principles:The Object
add to second to last sentence of ADS modifier: “or ADS-Advanced test.”
Reason for change
To allow new ADS-Advanced test modified from FEI Test 9
for 40 x 80 meter arena for organizers of ADS-Advanced CDE’s,
HDT’s who do not have room for 40 x 100 meter arenas, yet still want to
offer Advanced, as well as for ADT’s who also may use 40 x 80

disapprove: Most ADV test would be hard to modify. ie. movement 5 in Test #9 would only be a 20 meter extended trot. And shortening the ring would not be beneficial for the horses loosing balance and suppleness. It would also be harder for 4-in-hands to do the test in smaller ring. If the event can not offer the 100 meter ring then they should not offer ADS-Advance until they could produce a larger ring.

Disapprove, Advanced is designed for a large ring

I do not support this change.
The purpose of the ADS Advanced division was to provide a step for those competitors contemplating moving up to Advanced.
Since the FEI Advanced tests are designed for a 40 x 100 arena, an alternate suggestion would be to create an ADS Advanced test specifically for the 40 x 80 arena.

I believe this says the rule change is for an ADS-Advanced test that is an FEI test that has been modified for the 40×80 arena. I support the rule change for the modified tests.

All my RCS says, is to allow ADS Advanced Tests, which we are then free to create. I did not say, we should nor could modify all FEI Tests accordingly. I did, however, modify FEI Test 9 for a 40 x 80 arena, and that one works fine for example for ponies. All this does, is give us the flexibility where appropriate, incl. small ponies and VSE’s. Reading the current rule, probably the easier way is to just delete “ADT” in the last line of the ADS Modifier, which would accomplish the same.

…one further comment to the concern of chateaulog on movement 5 in test 9: The extension would stay the same length as in FEI 9, as I moved the one handed circles to D & G 🙂

I have to support this proposal. Without it there is no incentive to create Advanced test movements for a 40×80′ arena.
