Comment Period Closed for 2014 ADS Rule Change Suggestions

The Comment Period has closed for the 2014 ADS Rule Change Suggestions. This means that comments are no longer allowed on RCPReview.

At this time, the various technical committees (i.e. Combined Driving, Pleasure Driving, Dressage, Event Standards, etc) will evaluate the RCSs in light of the comments made and  decide which ones should go forward as Rule Change Proposals to the Board of Directors.  Once the the technical committees have made their decisions, the RCPs will be posted to RCPReview, evaluated by the Board and voted on during a Fall Board Meeting.

In case this process seems too good to be true (just kidding), it gets better (again, just kidding), the FEI Driving Committee has made changes to their Rules and the initial draft version of that document will be posted here soon.

Note that there were 92 registered users and there have been 561 comments made on the 2014 Rule Change Suggestions. Though this seems like a great number, we would like feedback on the use of this tool for the future.  Please let us know by commenting on this post.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask the Rules Committee or me, Mike Arnold.

I did like this methodology and vehicle for commenting on the proposed changes. I also tremendously enjoyed the ability in reading other competitor’s comments, it help me understand some of the counter points.
I wold like to see a summary of “approve”, “dis-approve”, or “other” as a radio button available #after# writing a comment (to avoid only selecting a button and not adding commentary) and posting that summery of clicks.

I really liked the format. In past years, you didn’t know if you were alone in supporting or opposing a rule change. Seeing other comments is a good idea.

I had trouble signing on with my assigned password. I had to go to the lost password page to get signed on the first time. That may have been the host’s problem.

I appreciate the extra work by the rules committee in setting this up.
